At Humdinger, we provide commercial photography for brands, organisations, agencies and productions that need more than a handful of photos. Think talent shoots, branded content, campaign imagery, studio productions, food photography, team content, presenters, performers and larger-scale stills projects.
Sometimes photography is the main event. Other times, it’s integrated into a broader video production.
Either way, the goal is the same - to create imagery that actually gets used.
What kind of photography do we usually shoot?
We’re generally involved when there’s a proper brief, multiple deliverables, or a need to capture a lot of content in a short period of time.
That might look like:
- Brand and campaign photography
- Team and organisational shoots
- Talent and performer photography
- Promotional stills for presenters, comedians and creators
- Food and product photography
- Photography captured alongside video production
- Studio shoots requiring multiple looks or environments
A lot of clients come to us because they’re already producing content and realise they need photography too. Instead of running separate productions, we can often capture both.
This simplifies your production because it means just organising one studio booking, one crew, one setup process, and it gives you a much stronger content outcome.
Why commercial photography works best in a studio
Shooting in a controlled environment like our Sound Stage is helpful on big productions because it remove variables.
You don’t have to deal with weather issues or changing light and there are no random interruptions or scrambling because the location suddenly stopped working.
Our Brunswick studio gives us full control over lighting, backgrounds, movement, timing and setup which means we can move faster, stay consistent, and get through significantly more content in a day.
This becomes especially useful for larger shoots where there are multiple people, products, sets or scenes to capture.
We can also build different looks throughout the day without needing to move locations - whether that’s through the use of our LED video wall, paper roll backdrops, or even custom set builds.
This matters if you are trying to maximise production value.
Commercial photography that works alongside video production
This is probably where we’re a bit different.
A lot of studios will only focus on stills photography or only focus on video. But, because we produce both, we’re able to think about the bigger picture and plan accordingly.
If we’re filming content for your website, social channels, campaign or internal communications, there’s usually an opportunity to capture strong still imagery at the same time - and often without a huge jump in pricing.
Instead of ending the day with only video footage, you leave with a content library that you can use for years to come, across multiple platforms.
That might include:
- Website imagery
- Campaign stills
- Team photos
- Behind-the-scenes content
- Promotional imagery
- Social media assets
- Press or PR-ready photography
So, if you’ve already invested in the studio, crew and setup why not add photography to your production and maximise what gets created?
