Corporate Video Production

In this guide, you’ll discover how we approach corporate video production; from our studio capabilities through to our proven production process - learn how we deliver content that’s always on-brand and on time.

Corporate video is the most effective method of engaging customers and showcasing how your business can actively solve a customer's pain point. Your customers are time poor, with increasingly limited attention spans, which in turn makes corporate video the ideal medium to get attention.

Corporate video production is increasingly being utilised both inside and outside organisations. From investor updates to recruitment campaigns, from internal culture pieces to brand storytelling, through to product demos and digital ads. Corporate video can carry the weight of conveying your company's message in a way that words on a page cannot.

“A picture paints a thousand words”

But while anyone can film a corporate video, few can translate a brand’s strategy into a visual story that informs, engages, and moves people to act. That’s where professional video production makes the difference. The right creative approach, planning, and production quality turn a message into something people actually remember.

At Humdinger, we specialise in crafting corporate videos that do just that. We partner with leading Australian companies to produce clear, purposeful content - helping to explain complex ideas, inspire teams, and convert customers. Our process blends creative direction with corporate insight, ensuring every video aligns with brand goals and delivers measurable impact.

We are a corporate video production agency in Melbourne and have 15+ years of experience; let us show you how we can partner together.

What should you look for in a corporate video production agency?

When a business decides to invest in producing a corporate video, it’s not just about finding a crew with good cameras. It’s about finding a partner who understands how businesses and corporate teams work - someone who understands there are approvals, deadlines, stakeholders to manage and expectations from cross functional teams on the outputs.

Our video production quality speaks for itself, and our years of experience working with corporate customers means we have a process that ensures you (the primary stakeholder in your business) will come across as methodical, organised and well assisted with managing the stakeholders that you have.

This is where our experience at Humdinger differs from that of our competitors.

Our job is to make your team look great and your message land

Here is how we do that:

You need evidence that Humdinger delivers quality corporate video

We can showcase our showreels, past projects and corporate video production examples that give confidence in our abilities and assists you to manage your stakeholders with evidence that we at Humdinger can produce high end results for your business.

You need confidence in the delivery process and project

With corporate video production projects, there is no room for ambiguity. You want to know the production will run smoothly and stick to budget (and finish on time!). For us, that means not overpromising and building proper end-to-end project plans that factor in the realities of video production.

Humdinger provide upfront certainty on what will be delivered and the key milestones along the way, which you can build your own internal corporate plan around.

You need certainty on price and budgeting

It’s not a great look if you have to visit the procurement team, hat in hand, asking for more money to finish your video project. This is why we focus on developing crisp briefs, project plans and fixed fee pricing to enable you to focus on the creative output, not the financials. To ensure certainty of pricing, we spend additional time with you upfront to ensure all facets of the project are considered.

You need a plan that incorporates your internal approvals

The approval process within your business may be complicated. Maybe you have legal, compliance, brand teams, communication teams,  and executive teams to manage. Each may require sign off or a chance to give feedback.

Humdinger understands this reality and builds your corporate video production plan around this to ensure feedback can be captured and approvals can be sought without derailing timelines.

You need a partner who offers years of experience in the form of guidance

Not every brief arrives fully formed. Often, what a corporate video customer really needs is a team who can help shape the message, refine what’s important, cut what isn’t, and find the right tone before cameras ever roll.

At Humdinger, we’ve learned that corporate video production isn’t about making things complicated, it’s about making things clear. When the process is handled with structure and respect, the creative team has room to do amazing things for your business.

Your corporate video production agency is there to make you look great, take the strain out of projects and deliver aesthetically beautiful results.

The Humdinger approach to corporate video production

Most of the corporate video production clients we have worked with start with a goal, or a vision and not a script. You may have a view on what you are looking to do; be it explain a complex topic, sell a product or service, drive awareness, create engagement or just clearly communicate something that is important to your business. However, you may not always know how to achieve this desired outcome via a corporate video.

That’s completely normal.

A reverse brief to build your corporate video

Our job at Humdinger is to take that starting point and shape it into something solid. We do that through what we call a reverse brief; a process where we help clients unpack their ideas, define the real objectives, and find the message that sits underneath. It’s part strategy, part translation. The goal is to completely understand what success looks like.

This step gives structure to the creative process of corporate video production. It removes the guessing before the video begins production. You wouldn’t let a builder knock down your house and start laying concrete if you didn’t have a plan for the final product (your future home!). Instead of diving straight into filming, we spend time aligning the story with the business goal, through short workshops, script sessions, and visual concepting as required.

Good partners throughout the process

Throughout it all, we guide our clients closely. Not by taking over, but by walking with them; clarifying, advising, and simplifying where needed. Some call it hand-holding; we just call it good partnership.

That’s the Humdinger approach to corporate video production; clarity before creativity. When the strategy is right, the production runs smoother, and the final video actually does what it’s meant to do.

Types of corporate videos we produce

No two projects are ever the same. Every business has a different message, and the best results come from choosing the right kind of corporate video for the job. At Humdinger, we produce a wide mix of corporate videos; from short explainers through to full-scale narratives - it really depends on what the story and your business require.

Here are some examples of the different types of corporate videos we have built for our clients in the past.

Corporate explainer videos

An explainer video is incredible at… explaining things! It helps you convert complex ideas, or services, into something easily digestible and understood by your audience. It cuts straight to the point and explains the things that matter. Whether it be an animated explainer video or a live-action explainer video (both of which are often utilised for training, onboarding, websites and similar) the goal is always the same; clean, clear, to the point, engaging and - make the business look great.

Corporate testimonial and case study videos

These are about showing proof, not just promise. When clients or partners share their stories, it builds credibility faster than any brochure can. We film case studies that feel genuine, letting real experiences speak for themselves. This can be a great option for those wanting to “show” the value their business delivers, rather than just “promising” the value the business may deliver.

Corporate product demonstration videos

Sometimes a product is best understood when people see it in action. That’s where demonstration videos work well. They show features and benefits directly, the sort of video that’s ideal for trade events, online sales, or training teams internally and demonstrating how to use something, or how it will work.

Corporate internal training and compliance videos

Many of our corporate clients use video to keep communication consistent across large teams. We produce training and compliance content that’s straightforward and easy to follow; no fluff, just clear information presented in a way that people actually watch.

Recruitment, HR and culture corporate videos

Culture videos give potential recruits a sense of what it’s really like inside a company. We focus on authenticity; capturing the people, the work, and the energy that make your organisation what it is.

Investor and executive presentation videos

When leadership needs to communicate with polish and precision, we produce executive videos that feel confident and human. These might be investor updates, annual report summaries, or CEO messages; the kinds of pieces that demand clarity, calm, and professionalism.

Event highlights and “sizzle” reels

Events come and go quickly, but a strong highlight video keeps the momentum going. We capture the key moments and energy of the day, then edit them into something lively and shareable for future marketing or social media usage. A great way to extract value out of a one-off event, so that it may live onwards in your digital channels as a marketing tool.

What makes a great corporate video?

Like anything in life, less is more, and this applies to corporate video production especially. You need to get straight to the point. Don’t waste your viewers' time.

This is how we do that in partnership with you:

Clarity and brevity are critical in corporate video

This is where it all starts. You have milliseconds with a viewer's attention span as to whether they are going to watch, let alone engage. Your message needs to be clear and delivered fast. One of the elements we focus on at Humdinger is how to say what we mean in as a few words as possible. It's quite an art form, and it’s the secret to good corporate video production.

Corporate videos need to be visually engaging

Through the use of clean lighting and/or strong imagery, visual engagement is what keeps people glued to their screens. It's the interplay of images, in concert with words, that tells a story and draws people in. This is why motion graphics, animation or text overlays in the video can really help to reinforce something being said in corporate video. The goal is to pull the viewer deeper into your video, while trying not to distract them from the messaging - which can sometimes be tricky.

Confidence on-camera is key to a professional corporate video

Whether you are looking to feature staff or hired talent as part of your corporate video, the confidence of those individuals needs to be on display. Whether it's your Managing Director, CEO, fellow employee or hired talent - authenticity is what people are looking for, and authenticity often comes from confidence.

At Humdinger, we work closely with whomever is in front of the camera, coaching them on how to come across natural, comfortable, believable and importantly - genuine.

Your corporate video needs emotion

Emotion is what matters to us as human beings. A good corporate video should leave the viewer “feeling something”, not just “feeling informed”. The goal for Humdinger is to help you produce a corporate video that leads to your viewer caring about your message, not just understanding it.

Corporate videos need best-in-class production quality

The final piece of the puzzle is production quality. You can have all of the above, and if the final output looks like it was filmed on a 1996 JVC hand camcorder - the viewer is going to doubt your businesses quality. Humdinger approaches best-in-class corporate video production quality by using the latest camera tech, beautiful lighting, and considered editing,  while ensuring the brand guidelines are adhered to and credibility is at the forefront of the video.

At Humdinger, we believe that when a story is told clearly and produced with care, people don’t just watch it, they remember it.

What can you prepare before engaging with a corporate video agency?

It all starts with a brief. As detailed as you can manage, but it doesn't need to be perfect. Humdinger can help you shape the brief, but anything you can write down to begin with would be ideal. This helps the process move a little faster.

While you don’t need to prepare anything before speaking with us, some of the things to consider in the back of your mind are as follows:

Samples or references of corporate videos you like

Sometimes it’s useful to show us what your desired visual output may look like. If you have seen a video and like the style - bring it along. We can help you understand what makes it good and where you may be able to borrow from its style or format.

Any objectives you are trying to achieve with your corporate video

Think through what you want to achieve here. A video focused on creating awareness is very different from say a video that is designed to create a result (e.g. to contact you). Think about your goals and desires from the corporate video and this will heavily influence the brief.

Understand the audience you wish to engage

Who are you wanting to speak to? If you try to be everything to everyone you will fail. Think through specifically who you want your audience to be, and what you want them to think/feel/do and it will go a long way to enhancing your brief and final product.

Think about who your internal stakeholders are

Ken in Compliance? Lucy in Legal? Dave in Brand? Alex in Procurement? If you have a highly complicated set of stakeholders, who either need to sign off or be involved, think them through early so we can factor this into the planning and project timelines.

Obtain any brand assets or guidelines you have

If your business has brand guidelines, the sooner we can see these the better. We can help translate these into video form (if not already done) so that the brand aesthetics, tone and positioning is felt within your corporate video.

Think about where the corporate video will live

Is your video for the website? Is it for YouTube? Do you want the video to perhaps one day be played on commercial television? Have a think about the different channels your video may be viewed on as that can impact certain decisions around not only the way we communicate in your video, but the types of music or graphics we utilise.

Corporate video licensing and usage - things to know

One of the easiest ways for a corporate video to run into trouble isn’t creative; it’s legal. Usage rights, music licensing, and talent contracts can get messy fast if they’re not sorted early. That’s why we help clients plan this part properly from the start (if it is required, in some case corporate videos can be put together with little to no licensing considerations).

Every corporate video has layers of ownership. The footage, perhaps the voiceover or music, the on-screen talent and potentially other licensed visuals or animations.

It's critical to think ahead of time how this video is likely to be used; whether it's for internal use only, public broadcasting, or paid media channels, along with what countries you may want to utilise the video in. Thinking about this upfront helps ensure you are not limited in its usage down the line.

Music licensing for corporate videos

Music is a common one. Different licensing tiers apply depending on the track and the platform. A song licensed for a website video might not cover broadcast or paid social. We guide clients through those choices so they know exactly what they’re covered for, and what would require an extension or upgrade later.

Talent rights for corporate videos

Talent rights are another area that needs to be considered. Anyone appearing or speaking in the video should have a contract that matches the intended usage. That includes how long the footage can be used and where it can appear. Corporate projects often run for years, so getting these details right upfront saves a lot of backtracking. In many cases, it might be a staff member or someone in the business, in which case a lot of this consideration can be bypassed or handed over in full for all usage mediums.

At Humdinger, we take care of these moving parts in partnership with you; negotiating approvals, renewals, and rollovers when campaigns expand or timelines shift. Some clients prefer to fully own their content, while others choose licensed elements that suit a specific timeframe or budget.

Humdinger will make the concept of licensing easy. The last thing we want is a future complication for you and your newly produced corporate video.

Working with talent (aka actors or staff members) in your corporate video

We often work with actors, but you may want a real person in your corporate video; perhaps a staff member explaining a product or service, or an Executive delivering corporate updates and strategy - either way, getting the right people on camera can really make or break a corporate video in our experience.

This means you may want to consider whether or not you hire trained actors, or get help in screening and selecting who may be the best fit for your needs based on the audience.

Comfort and authenticity matter more than anything else.

At Humdinger, we have experience across a range of video production areas. We have extensive experience in video production; from working on TV shows through to corporate video. When required, we have the ability to draw on our network of talent agencies, casting professionals and even familiar faces within the TV industry to bring your project to life.

But just as often, the real story belongs to someone inside the business; a founder, a subject expert, or a team leader. These are the people who know the details and carry the culture. We have a team of great people who love their jobs and we bring a fun energy to every project - which can often help your talent feel at ease. We can coach them on tone, pacing, nerves, posture - you name it. A few simple changes can pay dividends in the final video.

We offer corporate video production in our Melbourne Studio (or can film on-site)

Depending on the type of corporate video you require; we can be fully flexible in your requirements. If the video requires on-site shooting - we are mobile. If the video would benefit from a studio - we have a fully equipped professional video studio in Brunswick (Melbourne) ready to go.

Our Melbourne video production studio

Our studio based in Brunswick, Melbourne, is fully equipped for just about anything you can conceive. It's the ideal video production studio for product shoots, interviews, testimonials, you name it. Our studio can be customised with lighting, back drops, brand assets and more. We have state-of-the art LED walls, green screens, sound isolated studio space and every fathomable piece of tech kit to make the perfect corporate video.

Filming your corporate video outside of our studio

When the story needs a change of scenery, we pack up and come to you. We have filmed on-site in boardrooms, offices, factories and even out in the open. Depending on what your story requires, we can adapt the shoot to your needs.

The same team that helps you plan your corporate video are there on the day and running things for you. We travel with our equipment: cameras, lights, teleprompters - the lot! The setup might move, but the quality never drops.

We can also handle everything from multi-camera shoots to live streaming, and post-production stays in our hands. That means you’re not juggling separate suppliers or trying to line up schedules. The same team that planned your shoot will finish your edit, so nothing gets lost in translation. It’s a clean, end-to-end process that keeps your project moving and your message consistent.

We can work with you for one-off corporate videos, or ongoing as your corporate video production agency

Not every company needs a full production calendar. Some just need one strong corporate video done right. Other times, you may want a steady stream of content across the year. At Humdinger, we can handle both.

If you need a one-off shoot, we can move fast for you; from concept through to delivery; without layers of process. Perfect for launches and announcements when you need pace without extra process, or campaign pieces that stand on their own.

Ongoing corporate video production

For clients who need video produced  regularly, working with a retained partner (a corporate video production agency such as us) can make things simpler.

Once we know your brand, tone, and internal workflow, everything speeds up. From approvals through to turn around.

We can scale up or down as you require (with ease). What starts as a one-off small scale interview could grow into a national advertising campaign or series – the option is there and we can expand and grow with you.

At Humdinger, we don’t force a model on clients (beyond our process to ensure pre and post production run smoothly). Some work with us once a year, others every month. The goal’s the same either way; to make the production side feel straightforward, flexible, and dependable and most importantly - make you and your corporate video deliverables look great.

Corporate video clients we have worked with

We’ve had the privilege of working with some of Australia’s most recognisable brands, along with government departments and fast-growing tech companies. Each project has its own challenges and pace, but the goal is always the same; to produce video that’s clear, on-brand, and effective against your brief.

Some of the sectors and corporate partnerships we’ve been a part of include:

  • Mastercard; producing internal explainers and brand-led content that helps communicate complex ideas with clarity. We continue to partner with Mastercard for their ongoing requirements.
  • Canon; creating product stories and case study videos that blend technical insight with strong visual appeal. This partnership is ongoing and remains strong.
  • Government projects; while we cannot name them all for confidentiality, we have worked closely with many Government agencies to develop training and public awareness content.
  • Additionally, we have worked with other finance and technology clients to deliver livestreams, product demos, campaign assets and communication strategies via video.

These are but a few of the companies we have produced corporate videos for. The key theme across each is that confidentiality and tier one production were non-negotiable.

We understand working within the corporate world; our team has been there and done that, and our process reflects this.
